Moments
after the 737 took off from runway 12R at Houston Hobby Airport, it came
into proximity of a small Bell 207 helicopter (registration N6YJ) operated
by a local TV Station which flew directly overhead the airport at about
200 feet altitude. The pilots immediately took evasive action and reduced
their climb to pass below the helicoter. No collision occured. Closes
proximity was estimated as 125 feet vertically and 100 feet laterally.
There was no injury to any person abord the passenger flight or the
helicopter. The 737 conitnued its flight and landed safely at its
destination. The incident is under investigation.
NOTE: The incident has similarities to an occurence on April 19th at
Burbank in which a Southwest AL 737 missed a private plane on aproach. |

After
landing while the aircraft was taxiing towards its parking stand, the
right outer wing struck the roof of a catering truck which was standing
outside the assigned movement area. The 737 sustained a large dent on the
leading edge. No injuries reported among passengers and crew. The truck
driver remained unharmed. The aircraft returned to operational service on
May 6th.

On
approach to Angeles-International Airport (formerly: Clark Air Force
Base), the An-12 lost height and crashed in rice paddies about 30
kilometres south
of the airport. The An-12 came to rest against a dike where it broke apart
and burned to destruction. Only the tail section remained intact. At least three crewmembers were reported dead, while the
other three sustained unnkown injuries. According to press reports, the
three men were seen parachuting out of the burning aircraft shortly
before it crashed. Local aviation authority reported the pilots reported
an inflight fire a few minutes before contact was lost.

| The
Airbus A330 sustained serious damage to both wings when it struck two
lamposts during taxy-out for departure. There were no reports about any
injuries among passengers and crewmembers on board. Both posts were
knocked down by collision forces. The aircraft taxied from position
"310" on the southwestern complex (Terminal 3) to the departing
runway at the time. |

A310 safely returned to land at Istanbul after the pilots were unable to
retract the undercarriage during climb-out due to a hydraulic leakage.
After coming to a stop on runway 18L, the aircraft need to be towed to its
parking stand by ground vehicle. |

| Whilst
taxiing for departure along taxyway "Juliett" the right main
gear suffered a failure of its wheel hub resulting in an instant deflating
of all four tires. Debris shrapnel penetrated the underside of the right
wind Also tire fragments ingested into the right outer engine # 4 causing
unknown damage. All passengers need to disembark via airstairs on the
taxyway. |
