2017-09-30 Air Berlin A320 overran runway Westerland, Sylt
On landing the Airbus A320 came to a halt beyond the end of the runway coming to rest on the grass.
Following a seemingly normal approach to runway 32 at Westerland, Sylt Island, Germany Air Berlin flight AB6680 fom Duesseldorf landed on runway 32 (lengh: 2120 meters) but was unable to stop with runway lengh.
The A320 came to a stop on flat lawn about 50 meters behind the end of the runway.
All passengers and crew deplaned later via mobile airstairs. There were no injuries.
At the time local weather consisted of overcast skies, low ceiling, calm winds and occasional light rain.
