Narrative

On landing the aircraft to the side of the runway where it collided with a wall and was substantially damaged. At least three passengers were taken to hospital.

UPDATE

Daily Air flight DA 7511 from Taitung was landing runway 13 at Lanyu Airport, Orchid Islands in clear visibility and light winds. Upon landing run, the DHC-6 Twin Otter aircraft veered to the left until it departed the runway, it ran across the grass strip and a drainage ditch where the nosegear was severed.

The nose impacted a wall and the aircraft came to a stop against the perimeter fence resulting in a crushed nose section. The left engine broke away from its mountings and the left wing leading edge sustained impact damage as well.

It is understood four passengers suffered minor injuries from scratches.
