On landing in windy conditions, the aircraft overran the end of the runway at Khark Island Iran. All on board remained unhurt.

The 4 engined aircraft landed on runway 13 at Khark Island Airport (KHK, OIBQ) in windy conditions.

After touchdown the pilots were unable to stop the aircraft before the end of the runway. (lengh = 2347 m/ 7657 ft.)

The BAE 146 ran beyond the paved surface and into deep sand where the nosegear collapsed, until it came to a final halt about 50 meters further.

The crew initiated an emergency evacuation liva L1, L1 and R1 doors using chutes. The tail speedbrakes were seen in an extended position.

No one inside the 26 year old aircraft was injured in the event. Khark Airport was forced to limit operations until the aircraft was removed.
