2016-05-11 Air France B773 and A320 collided in fog at Paris CDG
Whilst taxiing from and to the departure runway at Paris CDG Airport, both aircraft collided on a taxiway resulting in substantial damage to the A320. All on board remained unhurt.
The Boeing 777-300 was under tow without passengers on board after it landed as flight AF 719 from Dakar on runway 08R at 05:57L . The towing vehicle taxied to a remote stand to reach tarmac „Mike“ at the southwestern tip of the airport.
Airport visibility was hampered by fog at the time, reducing visibility to less than 500 meters.
At the same time the smaller Airbus A320 was awaiting departure from runway 08L when the left wingtip of the 777 sliced through the vertical tail causing major damage.
The exact circumstances and the location of the collision is unknown yet. There were no injuries in the A320.
Both aircraft were taken out of service.
