Narrative

The airscraft received major damage on the ground at Kupang, Indonesia.

On pushback into taxiway „Alpha“ , the ATR hits a taxiway sign resulting in substantial damage to its tail.

There were no reported injuries among passengers or crewmembers. The pushback was discontinued and the ATR was towed back to its parking stand where it was grounded for an indefinate time.

Local visibility at the time was good (8000 m) according to NOTAM.
